OVERALL OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE

The Collection Officer is a clerical position who will assist in monitoring daily credit card transactions, identifying problem merchants or merchant malpractice in credit card business, assist in preparing transaction breakdowns, statistics, reports to facilitate merchant investigation and collection process, and all other duties assigned by Assistant Manager, Risk & Collections in day-to-day operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Risk Monitoring



*

Monitor day-to-day credit card transactions associated with GPAP merchants in accordance with Card Association mandates, operating regulations, best practices and recommended procedures


*

Assist to review credit card fraud reports, Card Associations fraud statistics and risk assessment programs


*

Assist to review the control parameters of the credit card fraud detection system


*

Assist to produce monthly Management Information of risk monitoring statistics


Fraud Investigation



*

Investigate suspicious and confirmed fraudulent credit card activities, identify problem merchants and any malpractice in credit card business in accordance with Card Association mandates


*

Conduct site visit to problem merchant location, investigate and interview with merchant employees to establish the cause of the incidents


Merchant Collection



*

Prepare letters, reports, transaction breakdown of outstanding debit items


*

Handle process of merchant reserves, collection resolution and transfer of excess balance to merchant account under collection


*

Assist to produce monthly Management Information of merchant collection and write off statistics


*

Assist in merchant recovery process of uncollected items, handle cheque deposit, prepare reports and communicate with other departments concerned.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS



*

Minimum 3 years' relevant work experience, preferably in accounting and statistics


*

Good PC skills and proficient in Word, Excels and Access


*

Attentative to details and able to deliver timely and quality output


*

Cautious, responsible, independent and self-motivated


*

Good command of both verbal and written English are required


*
