Our client, a leading casino resort is looking for an experienced IT executive to join their IS&T team as Assistant Vice President of Infrastructure. This is a newly created position.
Responsibilities
1. Architect and implement a first class technical infrastructure
l Design and implementation of all server/network and database technology architecture: Such architecture will feature high degree of resilience and flexibility to adapt to a dynamically changing environment
l Working within budget and project timetable to deliver robust solutions and infrastructure and hand off support processes
l Supporting and influencing both peers and business leaders on best technology solutions for business and IS&T use.
l Vendor management with technology business vendors, ensuring open and transparent relationship that clearly define and leverage the preferential status of the company and demonstrates beneficial service/ commercial rates
l Develop, communicate and seek business executive support for technology solutions direction through the IS&T strategic plan, focused on effective, efficient, relevant and solutions which clearly provide the company with a business advantage over competitors and support our strong customer service ideals
l Provide resource and consulting support to relevant business projects, including new and upgraded application and networking requirements
2. Provision of leading practice Data Centre Operations
l Ensures Operations and operational requests follow IT Security guidelines and standard request processes, such as Change Management and Service Request Management
l Ensure maintenance windows, Operations environment, monitoring standards, staffing levels and training levels, etc are controlled and well documented
l Defines criteria and reviews for periodic review of Long Term Operational Plan.
l Manages and ensures effectiveness (through regular measurement) of proactive IS&T operational support including Data Centre facilities, data backup, log analysis and performance measurement, expediting response from other functional teams that may be required to resolve or contribute.
l Drives continual improvement through measurement reporting and actions from clear analysis of operating KPIs
l Support the establishment of an appropriate business resilience capability including development and oversight of the annual testing of the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
3. Supporting the growth of our skilled and committed team of project focused technology professionals
l Utilising an appropriate mix of staff and vendor consultants, develop a strong technical competence and a team of highly skilled and motivated technical resources focused on our infrastructure technologies
l Develop and support a culture of constant review, measure and improvement both within IS&T and its primary areas of support
4. Monitoring IT trends and new technologies - developing the IT technology road map and strategy
l Improve, monitor and report the changes to the Director of IS&T those technology changes and the implications to the overall IT strategy.
l Collect the strategic needs and desires from the business and work with infrastructure and application teams to identify future initiatives.
l Develop an outline charter for each IT strategy initiative, showing scope of change and incorporating estimates for time and cost
l Perform regular assessments of the effectiveness of the IT Strategy, stated in terms of completeness and coverage of IT strategy implementation
l Incorporate continual feedback from experience and lessons learned into the evolving strategic footprint design and change
Qualifications
l Proven experience as strong technology centric leader and team oriented manager
l Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
l Strong vision, and ability to clearly articulate and communicate that vision to executives and peers
l Proven experience managing a large infrastructure environment incorporating sound industry technical management practices
l Strong business acumen
l Experienced in implementation and management of large scale infrastructure projects at Casino / Hotel (or similar) properties
l Detailed knowledge of relevant IT technology and trends and proven ability to relate them to the business needs
l Able to create passion and commitment both within own team and the wider IS&T family
l Highly self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail
l Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment
l University Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
l 10-15 years broad systems related experience with strong focus on technical leadership
l Dynamic, outgoing personality with excellent communication skills
l Fluent in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin), both oral and written
