Director of Housekeeping

 

Our client is a 5 star hotel in Macau. They are seeking for a good individual to join their team as Director of Housekeeping.

 

Responsibilities

·         Has total responsibility for overseeing the cleanliness of the guest rooms, common areas and exterior of the hotel

·         Has direct supervisory control of and prepares payroll for room attendants, hose persons, night house persons, laundry and complimentary servers

·         Maintain cost control on all supplies

·         Obtains list of vacant rooms, which need to be cleaned immediately, and a list of prospective check-outs and stay-over's in order to prepare work assignments.

·         Assigns duties to room attendants, house person(s), laundry, and inspects work to determine whether it meets the prescribed standards of cleanliness

·         Advise GM or Front Office Supervisor/Manager of rooms ready for check-in Inventories supplies and equipment to workers.

·         Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and takes corrective action

·         Examines rooms, hallways, lobbies, and outdoor areas to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment and makes recommendations to management

·         Attends all applicable training as designated by GM or company

·         Records data concerning work assignment, personnel actions and time records. Works with GM/AGM on reporting for bonuses

·         Attends staff meetings to discuss company/hotel policies, guest issues and provides feedback on recommendations for improving guest service and operational efficiency

·         Prepares reports concerning room occupancy, payroll expenses and department expenses

·         Train all new housekeeping department staff to perform all duties assigned

·         Create and maintain regular schedules for special cleaning duties in rooms and in common areas, such as flipping mattresses, cleaning draperies and bed spreads, cleaning carpets, polishing fixtures, etc

·         Creates work schedules to ensure adequate staffing at all times to provide the company/hotel service standards

·         Maintains good working relationship with the Front Desk in order to facilitate smooth exchange of information

·         Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training of colleagues' planning, assigning and directing work' appraising performance, rewarding and providing feedback (discipline) addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivelent j work/education experience; or three to four year's of previous experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Five star luxury hotel work experience
  • Fluent in English and Chinese
  • Macau resident highly preferred
