JOB TITLE: RF Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Experience with one or more of the following technologies are required:

GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS, WiMAX, and/or LTE.

·         Perform all stages of RF Backhaul design, including: path profile analysis, line of sight verification, link budget, site survey, frequency & radio selection.

·         Provide support to RF Operations team as required.

·         Responsible for providing radio network implementation plan for the bid

·         Perform network planning for a newly built GSM/CDMA/WCDMA network

·         Perform network optimization in order to ensure the quality of the network

·         Network problem troubleshoot and fix the problem found on the radio performance of the wireless network in order to ensure the proper functioning of the network

·         To maintain strategic relationships with customers and influence them with support in setting their evolution strategies

·         Utilize complex test equipment and post processing tools for network optimization.

·         Perform Radiation protection measurement and compliance calculations and/or field measurements.

SKILL LEVEL REQUIREMENTS

·         Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with a telecommunications option.

·         Minimum 3-5 years experience in wireless telecommunications as an RF Engineer.

·         Working knowledge of GSM/GPRS/EDGE, UMTS, WiMAX, CDMA/1X/EVDO.

·         Ability to perform microwave link path profile analysis.

·         Experience with Point-to-Point microwave backhaul radios (5.8, 18, 23 GHz, etc) is an asset.

·         Experience with wireless in-building design using distributed antenna systems is an asset.

·         Working knowledge and experience in IP networking a strong asset.

·         Excellent oral and written in English and Mandarin.

·         Excellent PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).

·         Excellent listening skills and ability to comprehend client’s requirements.
