Tea Sommelier

One of the 5 star hotels in Macau is inviting a high caliber candidate to join their team as Tea Sommelier. The right candidate will be offered a attracative benefit package.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure that the customers are served with tea correctly and ideally
• Recommend on the individual characteristics of different tea on food matching
• Responsible for compiling the tea list, buying, storing, and restocking the tea inventory
• Work with the outlets in launching the menu according to the promotion
• Participate in the training program, update applying knowledge of tea for the staff
• Perform the tea ceremony with appropriate setting
• Interact with department and company team members, management and contractor representatives in a professional and positive manner to foster good rapport, promote team spirit and ensure effective two-way and cross cultural communications
• Adhere to the Company policies and procedures and comply with the Company Code of Conducts when carrying out duties   
• Must be well-mannered and groomed as per Company standard at all time
• Follow health and safety standards at all time and constantly improve to avoid any health and injury hazards occurring from malpractices
• Proactively participate in the Company recycling program and follow a strict discipline to reduce, re-use and re-cycle wherever possible and appropriate to achieve cost efficiency
• Accept any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Manager

Competencies:

• Secondary graduate or equivalent, with tea knowledge related certificate is an advantage
• Good command of Mandarin and English. Cantonese is an advantage
• Must be knowledgeable about tea brewing methodology, blending, terminology, ceremony, performance, tasting and history for different kinds of tea
• Experience in Hospitality and working with tea is preferred
• Wine knowledge is an advantage
• Must possess good customer service, communication and organizational skills
• Must be well-groomed, confident, friendly and polite
• Ability to work independently and work well under pressure
